Q: Should I buy a Nissan Murano or a Ford Escape Hybrid?
I have narrowed it down to these two, and for the models I am looking at, the pricing is about the same. Murano is a much nicer/fancier car with a sweet interior and more bells and whistles. The Escape is the length/shape I prefer, gets great gas mileage, and offers a super financing deal (0% APR for 5 years, cash back, tax credit for hybrid). They both drive well. Downsides: The Murano is kinda long for me, b/c I have to parallel park often; The interior of the Escape is pretty lame, not what you'd expect from a $30k car. Thoughts?? I need to decide before the July 4th specials end.

The additional resale value of the Murano would probably be off-set by the interest I would be paying on the car loan over the next 5 years (Ford is 0% APR).
Fords are cheaper to repair, but they will not last as long.
A: I am a Nissan girl myself. nissans are pretty reliable. But ford is also pretty reliable. Out of all the Nissans, Murano is my least favorite. I don't like it's shape. It sounds like you'd be better with the Escape. Forget about the interior. I think having a smaller car in your case would be best. but if you do decide on the murano, you won't be dissapointed I am sure.

So my mom is buying a crossover, and we have wittled it down to the ford edge, and the nissan murano. We would like to know which is better for the long run (example durability, and resale value).
A: Nissan Murano. The Ford EDGE was an excellent attemp by Ford to win the crown of the best crossover, but they missed some small things that are really necissary to make a great car. The major complaints on the EDGE was the lack of a footrest for the driver, and a very long braking distance.
I terms of resale value, reliability, safety records, and overall quality, the Nissan will be better. Though with this said, the Ford has recieved excellent safety ratings and has proven to be very reliable.
What I would do is wait a year if possible before your purchase. In a year, the Ford will remove most of the kinks in the EDGE and Murano will either prove to be reliable or unreliable.
I would wait on the Murano because lots of Nissan Vehicals have horendous reliability fr the first year, then Nissan tweaks them and they get better.
But, if you were purchasing now, I would definitly take a look at the Mazda CX7 or, if you would like a third row seat, the Hyundai Veracruz is an excellent choice. The Hyundai looks really cool. It is suppose to look like the Lexus RX350, but form the back it reminds me of an Audi.

Q: What are the measurements of the cargo space in a Nissan Murano?
I know the capacity in cubic feet (81.6), but that doesn't tell me whether I can fit my new bookcase in the back of my friend's Murano. Yes, I could just go and measure it, but it's across town.
A: Murano's cargo area is probably the weirdest shape. Pick-up trucks are for moving your friend wont want scrapes and tears on there luxury sport utility. Even a 32" plazma tv won't fit. There built for boxes of books small end table and carry grocerys really well. Long less than 4 1/2 foot might close the hatch width 4 foot height at 4' less than 14" the sides curve in a lot Large retangles just don't go very well on a round Murano

A: well if want to buy this car then you might have some problem with this car at the start like the brakes they will squeal in reverse at most time and don't bother Nissan to fix it because they wont do anything. Anyway about the price it base off at 27,500 and you could get it for 25,500. Just go to cars-direct.com and look up Nissan murano and they will show the price for 25,524 and just print out that summary and show it to the dealer and most likely they will accepted that price. I did the same thing for mine expected i got the SL version fully loaded for 33,000 out the door and the real price was 35,100 plus tax,title,license,etc. So you will have a greater chance of what your getting. So good luck on buying the murano and you won't regread buying this car it really cool car and fun to drive.

i have an 04 nissan murano i think it has bose soundsystem as its on the faceplate, i know there is no dvd navigation and i see a sat button but no idea if that means its sat ready or not.

A: You are correct. The next Nissan SUV crossover the Rogue is due out soon! The 2003 to 2008 Murano is five years old and is looking a little old now. Keep an eye at Japan because that is where the Next Murano is comming from.
Q: What is the Difference between a Nissan Murano S, SL,and SE?

A: The S is the base model, SL is medium level and SE is the highest end model. An SL has more options as part of its standard package, plus it gives you wood grain finish.
You have to weigh what opytions you have to have against the base price of the different levels. A Murano is well equipped even at the S level, so if you don't have to have leather, power, heated seats you can save a lot of money.
Q: How do I use the navigation in a Nissan Murano?
I have a NIssan Murano as a courtesy car for the next few days. It has navigation, but I cannot figure out how to use it. If I touch the screen nothing happens and I can't get it to the navigation menu. It just stays on radio. Does anyone have this vehicle or know how to use it?
A: You have to make sure that the vehicle really does come with Navigation because ALL Muranos come standard with a 7" screen. If it is all orange L.E.D's, then you DONT have Navigation.
If you have a color screen, then you might possibly have a new Murano with or without Navigation.
The only way to tell if you have Navigation is whenever you start the vehicle up, if there is a Warning "Do not operate Navigation while Driving".....then yes you have Navigation. And should have a MAP button. Press that or DEST to enter in your destination.
From the sound of things, i really doubt you have the Navigation but rather just the standard 7" screen that displays Navigation. If you figure you really have the Navi, type another question and ill go further with this.

A: I would recommend that you stay away from Nissan and go out and buy a Honda Pilot. It will give you all of the power, performance, and reliability that you will need out of an SUV.

I would like to know how long has Nissan been making the Murano and the longevity of it and possible resale value and how often do they change the body style and when is a new body style expected to be out? If possible are there any websites were I can see some older photos of past Muranos? Any kind of help would be great! I am looking into possibly purchasing a Murano in the near future but I want to make sure I have as much information as possible. Any information concernign the Murano would be greatly appreciated!
